This time of year I’m always thinking about organization: the house, my studio, tax receipts, etc.
One way to stay on top of those pesky little sheets of paper in your purse is to create a pocket notebook to stash them in, as well as handwritten memos, recipe cards when heading to the grocery store or just spare pieces of paper that won’t get dog-eared in the bottom of that giant carryall.
Using Kool Tak™ products assures that you won’t have to worry about things coming apart and that they will still be where you stored them when it’s time to pull them out.
Here’s how I did it:

Chipboard, four sheets, 4 1/4″ x 6″ and two sheets, 4″ x 5 1/4″
Black card stock, five pieces, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Black card stock, 9″ x 3 7/8″, scored every 3/4″
Matching cover papers, two sheets, 5 1/4″ x 7″, and inside papers, 4 1/2″ and 5 3/4″
Coordinating papers for cover embellishment, 3″ x 5″ and 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″
Coordinating paper, 1 1/2″ x 5″, folded to 1/2″ x 5″
Paper Flowers, one large and one small (Paper Studio)
Additional embellishments as desired
Circle punch, 1 3/4″
Instructions
Protect your work surface with the Kool Tak™ Reusable Craft Mat.
Adhere two 4 1/4″ x 6″ sheets of chipboard together with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive to make two cover bases. Cover each piece with 5 1/4″ x 7″ cover paper, fold to back of chip board and adhere them with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive. Cover the remaining two pieces of chipboard with 4 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ paper, adhering paper to chipboard with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive. Set all cover pieces aside.
Using the Kool Tak™ Layer Plus Tool, measure and score the black 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card stock at 1 1/4″ and 5 1/2″. Fold the two ends over the center piece and secure it with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive. Mark the center of one end and punch a half circle with the 1 13/4″ circle punch. Repeat with the remaining four sheets to make a total of five pockets.
Fold the scored 9″ x 3 7/8″ card stock in an accordion fold. Leaving the first fold empty, place a piece of Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive on every other fold. Remove the release tape and adhere the straight end of each pocket, seam-side down, to the accordion fold. Adhere the next-to-the-last two folds together so that the final piece of the accordion is a valley. Place a strip of Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive between each pocket and. keeping them straight, adhere all the pockets together so that only the circle-punched portions are open.
Place a piece of Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive on the outside of the accordion ends and attach the covers. Open the book and attach the inside front cover with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive.
On the inside back cover, attach the folded 1/2″ x 5″ paper strip to the outer edge of the inside with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive. Add the second piece of inside cover with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive.
Add the two layers of coordinating papers to the front cover. Wrap the paper strip to the book front, attach the large paper flower to the strip with Kool Tak™ 1/2″ Premium Extreme Adhesive, then add an oval of Kool Tak™ Hook & Loop. Remove the release paper and press the flower to the book cover. To open the book, separate the two pieces of Kool Tak™ Hook a& Loop. Add additional embellishments as desired.
